Are you prepared? Are you CERTain?
CERT is a nationwide training program designed to prepare individuals and families to assist first responders during community emergencies or natural disasters in our area.
CERT training is free and highly encouraged by our local civic leaders, businesses, and religious organizations.
CERT training consists of 3 parts:
- An online 9-module training course to be completed at home between Jan 1st, 2023, to March 31, 2023. All nine modules can be completed in approximately 10-12 hours.
- It will be necessary to attend a focused 2-part in person, hands on training to implement the skills you have learned in the online modules. This training is scheduled for Friday April 28, evening and Saturday 29th all day. A potluck lunch will be included in our schedule.
- Following Hands on training, we will test our skills in a Mock Mass Casualty Event. This is scheduled for Saturday May 6,2023. This simulation will be coordinated by a cooperative effort of each of our 8-town Fire Departments and First Responders. A certificate of graduation will be awarded to everyone upon completing the CERT Training course and Mass Casualty Event. CERT training is open to individuals 16 y/o and older.
