What would you do if the electricity went off for an extended period of time such as a week, a month, or even a year? Would you be prepared? How would you and your family survive the crisis?
In a 2016 poll, 50% of adults surveyed said they would be in serious trouble if the power went off for two weeks. And a shocking 75% predicted that if the power went off for a year, they would be dead.
In this time of unusual weather conditions, increasing natural disasters, and political upheaval, the danger of an extended blackout is more serious than ever. Recent events have also highlighted the risk of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, which could possibly bring down electrical systems across the entire country for a very long time.
